Church Purpose Statement:

The purpose of The Antioch Baptist Church is:

TO     exalt        the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through believers and corporate praise, testifyand worship meansto glorify God by helping believers worship the one true living God in spirit and in truth on a daily basis individually and when the Church is assembled together corporately.

TO  equip   the saints for the works of ministry through instruction means so the body may grow (spiritually, numerically, and financially) to become mature disciples, and to fulfill the measure of the stature, which belongs to the fullness of knowledge of JesusChrist;

TO   edify    one another through fellowship means of encouraging one another and building up the body of Christ into a unity of faith;

TO       evangelize     our home, community, city, state, country, and world through evangelism means which proclaims the Word of God and calls individuals from everywhere to respond to Jesus Christ through faith;

TO   enable      the church to fulfill this ministry purpose, through the usegivingand  wise stewardship(accountability, responsibility, and the commitment of using ones spiritual gifts, skills, time and finance) as means that enhance and protect the numerous resources that God has so faithfully entrusted to this body of believers.

A. INVITE PEOPLE INTO RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST:

To be a witnessing body of Christ that carries and spreads the GoodNews of God’s redeeming love which surpasses all ethnical, educational, political and economic statuses and life styles.

B. TEACH BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES:

To be an educating body of Christ that emphasizes biblical, spiritual, intellectual, and moral training which assists us in realizing our potential and helps us to sustain andchallenge our minds, hearts and spirits.

C. MODEL AND PRACTICE A BIBLICAL LIFESTYLE:

To be a body of Christ that practices good stewardship, managing our time, skills, spiritual gifts, and money according to the will of God, providingsupport for the ministries and the upkeep of God’s house.   Also, to develop pure principles which help to lay the foundation for the development of noble Christian behavior within the world.

D. PROMOTE LOVING RELATIONSHIPS:

To be a friendly body ofChrist that exhibits personally and corporately a Christ-centered love for members of The Antioch Baptist Church family as well as the community,       realizing that “fellowship” encourages the development of healthy relationships  in both arenas.

E. PROMOTE UNITY:

To be a body of Christ that constructs ourministries to meet the needs of each generation and ethnic group. To acknowledges our Heavenly Creator’s unique gift/s to every individual understanding that these gift/s are to be used to build the kingdom of God and glorify HIM.

F. SERVE THE COMMUNITY:

To be a ministering body of Christ that usesit’s personal and collective resources to meet the physical, spiritual needs of humanity and community.

G. CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT:

To be a body of Christ that uses our resources wisely and embraces new changes and initiates creative ways to serve God’s creation utilizing innovation and technology that we may be good stewards.
